For over 30 years, the 49ers Foundation has harnessed football to educate and empower Bay Area youth through a collective of innovative and community-focused strategies. From award-winning STEAM education and nationally recognized youth football programs to impactful community partnerships with leading nonprofits, we are tirelessly dedicated to inspiring the confidence and collaboration our youth need to tackle what is possible. Our work is made possible thanks to our corporate partners, Red & Gold Society members, and our network of faithful donors and supporters.

EVENTS

Picnic on the Field

More than 2,000 49ers Faithful spent a day on the field at Levi’s® Stadium interacting with players and alumni for the third annual Picnic on the Field benefitting the 49ers Foundation! The event raised over $180,000 for Bay Area youth and guests filled 500 backpacks with hygiene products for local youth in need.

Kickoff: Players for a Purpose

Presented by SAP

The 49ers Foundation’s fifth annual Kickoff: Players for a Purpose presented by SAP raised a record-breaking $760,000. The Foundation welcomed over 500 guests to Levi’s® Stadium and players sat at tables with guests for the first time since 2019, and alumni legends Jerry Rice and Terrell Owens helped get the crowd ready for the evening. The event also featured a heartfelt keynote speech from Arik Armstead about his work with the 49ers Foundation and in the community.

Academia De La Fundacion 49ers in Mexico City

In celebration of the team’s return to Mexico, 49ers PREP and 49ers EDU teamed up to educate and empower nearly 150 children from Mexico City in a two-day series of community focused initiatives. Students started their day with a STEAM lesson with the EDU educators and participated in football drills with 49ers PREP alongside mascot Sourdough Sam, the Gold Rush cheerleaders, and 49ers alumni.

KNBR HOLIDAY SPORTS AUCTION

The sixth annual KNBR Holiday Sports Auction benefiting the 49ers Foundation raised over $114,000 in 2022. The two-day on-air auction started on Giving Tuesday and gave 49ers Faithful the opportunity to bid on one-of-a-kind memorabilia and experiences with all proceeds benefiting the Foundation’s efforts to educate and empower Bay Area youth.

49ERS FOUNDATION 50/50 RAFFLE

During the 2022 season, the 49ers Foundation continued to be one of the top-ranking NFL teams in its fundraising efforts with the 50/50 Raffle, raising over $1.5 million during regular and postseason 49ers games at Levi's® Stadium. Each game, the funds raised were split evenly between one lucky fan and one of the Foundation's 10 community beneficiaries: 49ers EDU presented by Chevron, 49ers PREP presented by U.S. Bank, Fresh Lifelines for Youth, 49ers Academy, City Year San José/Silicon Valley, STEM Leadership Institute Presented by Chevron, the Golden Heart Fund, USO NorCal, and the American Cancer Society West Region.

DIG FOR GOLD
AUCTION & SALE

Presented by Jelly Belly

The Dig for Gold Auction & Sale presented by Jelly Belly provides 49ers fans the opportunity to score authentic, can’t-buy collectibles straight from the 49ers locker room while supporting programs that help level the playing field for Bay Area youth. Dig for Gold achieved a record program revenue of over $500,000 and resold over 3 tons of textiles in its effort to be a sustainable alternative in the industry.

TEACHER OF THE GAME

The 49ers Foundation is proud to partner with Chevron to recognize Northern California educators for their commitments to the next generation. During the 2022 season, we honored twelve educators on the field during the third quarter at 49ers home games as a thank you for carrying out our mission to educate and empower Bay Area youth daily.

Community Connections

Presented by PG&E

The 49ers Foundation was proud to introduce Community Connections presented by PG&E, a signature gameday program celebrating the 49ers success on the field to make a big impact off the field. PG&E donated $700 for every 49ers touchdown, $500 for every 49ers sack, and $300 for every 49ers field goal to a designated beneficiary of the 49ers Foundation, culminating in a grand total of $36,300!

STEAM STUDENTS OF THE GAME

Each 49ers home game, we invited two Bay Area students who have a passion for STEAM education or want to pursue a career in a STEAM-related field to a 49ers home game and featured them across our digital platforms to honor the next generation of STEAM leaders.

EXTRA BUCK$ FOR BAY AREA YOUTH

This season, the Extra Buck$ for Bay Area Youth program allowed fans at concession stands and the Team Store to donate on top of their purchase to support the Foundation’s mission to educate and empower Bay Area youth. Extra Buck$ generated $6,000 this season.

SCOREBOARD MESSAGES PROGRAM

Fans had the opportunity to purchase a personalized scoreboard welcome, happy birthday, anniversary, proposal or congratulations message at a 49ers home game and see their name in lights on the large scoreboard. The 49ers Foundation raised a program record of over $18,000 during the 2022 season.

CITRIX OWNERS CLUB

The 49ers Foundation established its presence in the Citrix Owner’s Club at 49ers games at Levi’s® Stadium during the 2022 season. An activation station allowed guests to stop by and sign up for a complimentary raffle to win autographed items, as well as the opportunity to learn more about the 49ers Foundation, our direct service youth programs and upcoming events and activities.

RED & GOLD SOCIETY DONOR WALL UNVEILING

This year, the 49ers Foundation cemented our most dedicated supporters’ legacy into Levi’s® Stadium with the unveiling of our Red & Gold Society Donor Wall. This interactive wall honors our Red & Gold Society members’ commitments to the long-term sustainability of the 49ers Foundation, as well as the contributions of various longtime charitable partners.
