49ERS FOUNDATION 2022-2023

ANNUAL IMPACT REPORT

A LETTER FROM OUR LEADERS

For over 30 years, the 49ers Foundation has remained committed to our mission: Educate and Empower Bay Area Youth. We believe by focusing the team’s charitable efforts on the next generation, we are helping build a better Bay Area for generations to come. Our colors, red and gold, expand far beyond what we do on the field and represent both a passion for community impact and a standard of excellence in everything we do. Whether you are an avid fan or a casual observer, your belief in this team means more than wins and losses. The philanthropic work of the 49ers Foundation provides our fans the opportunity to help change the lives of those furthest from resources in their communities.

Since 1991, the 49ers Foundation has invested over $60 million back into the community to support youth and provide the tools they need to tackle what is possible. From its inception in 2014, 49ers EDU presented by Chevron, has leveraged the game of football and Levi’s® Stadium to introduce over 500,000 K-8 students to modern STEAM concepts and career paths. In 2009, we launched 49ers PREP presented by U.S. Bank to empower Bay Area youth to lead healthy lifestyles. Through an array of in-stadium and in-school programming, our staff works to engage youth through sport, physical activity, and character development that nurtures the growth of student-athletes beyond the playing field. To date, 49ers PREP has impacted the lives of over 130,000 K-12 students.

We returned to full in-person programming this year, enabling us to connect with students, athletes, beneficiaries, Bay Area industry leaders, and donors year-round in both familiar and new ways. We also reimagined our direct service programs to maximize and deepen our impact on Bay Area youth, implementing multi-touchpoint programming. These multi-part initiatives aim to ensure that students leave our programs with a better understanding of STEAM and wellness concepts, ultimately inspiring our next generation to dream big and tackle what’s possible.

We also witnessed history this year as California became the eighth state to sanction girls flag football as a high school varsity sport. 49ers PREP has long supported girls flag football initiatives and looks forward to continuing to support and amplify the success of teams and players, ultimately helping to open new doors for these game-changing athletes.

The 49ers Foundation is YOUR Foundation, and so we call to you, the Faithful, to join us in our continued commitment - improving the lives of the next generation and remaining faithful to our shared future.

OUR MISSION REMAINS

The 49ers Foundation harnesses football to educate and empower Bay Area youth through direct and beneficiary programs throughout Bay Area counties and beyond. From the award winning STEAM education programming of 49ers EDU presented by Chevron to the nationally recognized youth football, health and wellness programs developed by 49ers PREP presented by U.S. Bank, the 49ers Foundation supports both initiatives in their dedication to inspire the confidence and collaboration youth need to tackle what is possible.

YOUR IMPACT

In 2022, our 49ers Foundation Family helped us reach and shatter goals via gameday fundraisers and in-person events. As the 49ers experienced success on the field, our supporters matched their commitment and passion off the field. We continued to create one-of-a-kind experiences for our most dedicated supporters and even cemented our donors’ legacies inside of Levi’s® Stadium.

EDUCATE

49ers EDU presented by Chevron welcomed K-8 students back to Levi’s® Stadium for the first time since the pandemic with the newly reimagined Home & Away program, deepening the program’s impact to help inspire the next generation of STEAM leaders. We also engaged high school students in both familiar and new ways to help them begin writing their playbook to educational and occupational success.

EMPOWER

49ers PREP presented by U.S. Bank continued to engage with youth flag football players and high school student-athletes to shape them into leaders both on and off the field. Through initiatives like PREP Schools and our support of girls flag football initiatives, 49ers PREP continues to make football more accessible and inclusive for everyone, clearing the path to success for the next generation of game changers.

COMMUNITY

Using football as its platform, 49ers Community Relations strives to build stronger communities through partnerships with Bay Area nonprofit organizations forging the path for positive change. Through hands-on service, 49ers players, alumni, ownership, and staff volunteer their time to support and encourage underserved youth and families, those facing medical crises and mental health challenges, at-risk individuals and social justice efforts.
